Pre-Calculus
Throughout this year in Pre-Calculus course my skills will be sharpened and advanced from Algebra 2. I will gain a better understanding of the underlying concepts of advanced Algebra as well as have an introductory to trigonometric topics. After taking this course will be more prepared to take Calculus my senior year. By the end of the year I hope to be able to comfortably use a higher thinking while approaching problems algebraically, graphically, numerically, and verbally. Some topics that will be covered throughout this course include: Fundamental Algebra Concepts, Parent Functions, Functions Transformations, Quadratics and Polynomial Functions, Rational Functions, Exponential/ Logarithmic Functions, Conics, The Unit Circle, Trigonometry, Probability, and Sequences and Series.

Informed Consumer Project
As we age and begin moving on into our adult lives it is important to know how to balance and track your expenses. For this project we had the option of choosing the following topics: budgeting, loans, credit cards, banking, investing, retirement, or a financial topic of our choice. I decided to choose budgeting in order to learn how to keep track of my expenses throughout my four years in college. For this topic I created a budget that will be used for the four years while I am in college. The budget includes one personal goal and a plan of how to accomplish the goal. Throughout the project I learned how to solve different problems using the loan and investment formulas and basic exponential formulas. In addition, I practiced my skills in excel while building my budget and calculating my overall income and totaling my expenses.
The Price Of College Project
For this project we found the true price of college by doing mathematical calculations in excel that were displayed on graphs as a visual. This project introduced us to many different loans and payment plans for college. This project was meant to inform us on how much money we will be spending on college. College is not very affordable to most, causing many students to take out loans and work in order to pay of college. In some cases, students finally finished paying off their debt after 15-25 years This is a lot of money and cost for education. It is important to be informed on how much college can cost. After doing the calculations of our tuition, fees, non-monetary, and monetary costs and benefits we concluded by answering the question, "Is college worth the price?"
Based on my data and information I concluded that the benefits I would gain from going to college for four years were worth the cost in the end:
