11th Grade Humanities
Throughout this year in Humanities I will aspire to learn all about the History of America. As a class, our goal is to "deconstruct" America. Deconstruction is a type of philosophical thought and language analysis that seeks to complicate ideas and overturn traditional assumptions in order to recognize that the certain truth is an impossible goal. In the process of deconstructing America we will be reading many different types of literature, historical documents, and other media sources to explore the background of America from multiple different perspectives. This will be an engaging class, causing me to think both rigorously and vigorously. I will be focusing on gaining skills such as critical analysis, making and supporting sophisticated claims, internalizing my own writing/ learning process, and managing my time in order to carry a robust workload. This class will require a lot of independent work and responsibility in time management.
